Members Annual Lunch Event and Wombat Recovery Cup at The Vintage - Saturday and Sunday 25-26 September 2010  

Invitations will soon be sent for our annual lunch. You will enjoy some of our new releases, along with appetisers at the vineyard.  We will then travel by bus to Julz Van den Berg's Cracked Pepper restaurant for a leisurely lunch accompanied by our wines, along with a new a wine options game.  Why not make up a table and bring some friends?  Some people choose to travel from Sydney by hire car for the day, others (particularly golfers staying for the recovery cup) choose to make a weekend of it and stay for 2-3 days in the valley.

The lunch will be followed by the annual Wombat Recovery Cup golf match at The Vintage on Sunday.  Please reserve the date in your diary.

 The Burrows Lodge at Wombat Crossing Vineyard

Our new villa accommodation for 2 couples is now open at Wombat Crossing Vineyard.  This exclusive facility is top class and provides for the ultimate vineyard escape weekend. It is very private, and we give preference for reservations of The Burrows to our members.

The Burrows comprise 3 separate pods, with 2 separate bedroom/en suite blocks attached to a middle living pod that provides a lounge and kitchenette/dining facilities. The facilities provide for disabled access. There are queen sized beds in each bedroom.  The Lodge is self-catering and self contained, with both a gas and wood BBQ available.  A continental breakfast pack, our wine and some local cheese are provided for the weekend. Sports fans will not be disappointed - there is a modern audio/visual centre in the living pod.  All rooms are air-conditioned.

The pods are connected by a single roof, where we have installed a large solar array to generate power for our facility and contribute to the grid.  There is a brilliant outside area with tables and chairs, with views across the dam and olive grove through to the Barrington Tops in the distance.  Naturally you will be welcome for a private wine tasting, and you can bring some clubs and try our 9 hole par 3 practice course located on the property.

The Burrows Lodge is available for 2 days weekend rental for $900, or 3 days for $1200.  If you wish to stay longer, then please call us to discuss availability and rates. There are reduced rates for weekday accommodation.

Wombat Field and Wine Club members have preferred booking rights for weekends every year (please try to book as many weeks ahead as you can, as accommodation sells out very early for event and function weekends) and will benefit from a 10% room rate discount.

Because the Burrows Lodge is located adjacent to a dam, we cannot accommodate children or pets.  All rooms are all non-smoking.
